Over the years Twitter has gained popularity and users have paved the way for franchise businesses to utilize the social media site to better reach the public. Many franchise business operators use Twitter for franchise advertising and Tweet deals, specials, coupons and more to their followers.  Twitter has become an instant mode of communication between businesses and consumers.  Customers now expect to connectand converse with businesses over social media, and often times will check the company's social media pages prior to checking the actual company webpage.

Don't Over Sell

Most likely the people choosing to follow your company on Twitter already know who you are, what you do and what your products are.  Meaning, your customers and followers don't want or need that information.  What your followers will want will be new information.  New information can consist of anything from company updates to new products to coupons. Provide fresh content on a regular basis and your company's Twitter profile will continue to attract more followers.

Diversify the Messages

Aside from the sales and coupon codes from your franchise, give your Twitter followers something more to look forward to on their newsfeed. Industry tips are a great way to keep your followers engaged and collect future followers.  Other Twitter engagements include contests, fun facts and questions. These allow you to start a two-way interaction between your company and Twitter users. The most important part is to give valuable information through the form of Tweets.

Communication is Key

The most common trend in Twitter is that users expect an immediate answer.  If you plan to host your franchise on Twitter you must be dedicated to Tweeting regularly. Twitter moves at a fast pace and if your company doesn't reply fast enough the response may be rendered useless to the Twitter follower you are attempting to connect with. Many larger companies have dedicated specific employees to monitor their Twitter accounts and respond to followers and customers.

Start Now

It is important for you to start your advertising your franchise on Twitter now.  Your competitors may already be using social media to gain more customers.  By putting your company on Twitter as well, it will even the playing field. On the other hand, if your competitors are not on Twitter this will give you and your products the upper hand at accessing the customer base which can be found on Twitter.  There are positive opportunities to be found on Twitter.  By developing a presence on the social media site, you will be able to capture an audience and communicate at a deeper level with your customers.

Use the above tips to better shape your social media and Twitter plans.
