Allstate helps teens, parents with 'Driving Challenge'![]() Posted on August 13, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin One insurance franchise in Florida is hoping that a new safety program will help teens learn how to be safer on the road.Central Florida News 13 reports that Allstate Insurance in Tampa, Florida, recently started the Allstate Family Driving Challenge in order to teach both teens and their family members the importance of staying safe behind the wheel. When it comes to accidents, teens are more likely than other drivers to get into a car wreck, according to statistics cited by the news source. Much of the problem lies in teens getting distracted by mobile phone technology. By doing things such as texting or talking on the phone, young drivers put everyone on the road at risk. "Today we're out with parents and their teens, not to show them how to text and drive, but to show them what happens in those few seconds that your eyes are off of the road," said Allstate spokesperson Amy Moore. As long as they are not behind the wheel, drivers of all ages will be able to take advantage of a new mobile phone product from Allstate. The insurance franchise recently introduced applications for both the Blackberry and iPhone for quicker access to information.
