Allstate to raise rates in Louisiana![]() Posted on August 25, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin Customers of Allstate insurance will soon be paying higher rates for coverage in Louisiana.Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon has signed off on increasing rates from 2.9 to 11.6 percent, depending on which Allstate subsidiaries a customer is covered under. Allstate is the second-largest insurance provider in the state, covering 164,000 homeowners. Under the new policies, 78,375 homeowners in the state will be paying 11.6 percent more than they have in the past, while 78,793 of the customers covered by Allstate Indemnity company will pay 3.3 percent more. Allstate spokeswoman Allison Hatcher said that Allstate customers could expect to pay $150 more per year in premiums and that those covered under the Allstate Indemnity Company would end up paying $40 more. Allstate customers all over the country recently learned that the company would be giving them a brand new application for their mobile devices. The new Allstate Mobile will be available on both iPhones and Blackberrys and will allow users to check polices and make changes to coverage, all from their phones.
