Charitable causes help franchises gain customers![]() Posted on October 27, 2010 by Stacey Fousse One of the best ways for franchises to become staples of their community is by helping to raise money for worthy charitable causes. Customers are more likely to go to the store if they believe they can help out those in need while purchasing items or services.Sport Clips, a franchise specializing in haircuts with 700 locations across the country, announced that its stores would participate in its annual "Help A Hero" advertising fundraising campaign. The money raised will go to support the Veterans of Foreign Wars Operation Uplink in places throughout the country. The campaign seeks to offer free call days for those serving their country. "More than 344,508 connections with family and loved ones were made last year through the efforts of our team members and clients. They've generously given their time, enthusiasm, and means to sponsor free call days on Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day," said Sport Clips founder and CEO Gordon Logan, a veteran and lifetime member of the VFW. Sport Clips continues to make headlines as franchises open throughout the country. The Pioneer Local reports that the newest location will open in Niles, Illinois, and will feature the sports-themed setup, along with big-screen TVs.
