Children’s Hair Salon, Snip-its to Open its First Utah Location in December
Fast Growing Franchise Caters to Children’s Hair Care and Parties

NATICK, MASS.Snip-its, the fastest growing franchise of children’s hair salons, will open its latest location in Layton, Utah at 2065 N. Harris Boulevard in December. The salon was originally scheduled to open in the fall, but was delayed by construction issues. The new 1250 sq. ft. salon will provide haircutting services to children in a fun and animated cartoon environment with specially trained and friendly stylists. In addition, the salon will offer a line of self-branded hair care products, innovative children’s parties and spa treats.

"We’re thrilled to bring the Snip-its concept to Layton. From haircuts to birthday parties, our salon offers a one-of-a-kind experience that’s loads of fun for kids and less stress for parents," said Snip-its owners and Layton residents Jim and Rossana Yorgason. "Despite the current economic challenges, we expect the salon to be a big hit. We’re proud to support the local economy."

Snip-its offers children a no-tears haircut alternative to adult salons offering a Saturday morning cartoon environment weaved with vibrant colors. Salons feature a cast of Snip-its own branded animated cartoon characters: Snips, Jean Luc le Spritz, Curly Comb, Flyer Joe Dryer, the Clip-ette Sisters, and Maranga Mirror plus animated videos, salon-tailored educational computer games, and a cushy "parents chair" to keep Moms close at hand. At the end of each visit, children receive a prize in exchange for a lock of hair from the "Magic Box."

"We are very selective in who we take on as Snip-its franchisees as they need to have the right qualities, values and talents to represent our brand and to succeed in their business," said Joanna Meiseles, founder of Snip-its and an author for Inc. Magazine’s Great Entrepreneurial Minds blog. "Jim and Rossana’s passion and commitment are perfect and we are proud to have them as a Snip-its franchisee."

The Snip-its Corporation is based in Natick, Massachusetts with salons designed to untangle the hair-care challenges of children and their parents. Launched in 1995 by Joanna Meiseles, Snip-its provides the best customer service and a guaranteed great time for both kids and parents. In 2008, Snip-its was named the 35th fastest growing franchise in the U.S. by Franchise Times Magazine.
