Corporate leadership important to choosing the right franchise

One of the most important ways for franchises to gain a competitive advantage is by having the best leadership possible running the show. When experienced managers are at the head of the organization, franchisees from around the country have more confidence in how the brand is being run.

Gold's Gym recently announced that it would be appointing a brand-new person as its vice president of franchise sales. Tim Hicks will take on the new position as the gym franchise hopes to attract new business partners throughout the country. The franchise was pleased to have Hicks in the new role.

"Tim is a sharp business strategist with extensive professional expertise who will be a tremendous asset to the Gold's Gym team," said Jim Snow, president of Gold's Gym International. "His hiring will help us expand and reach investors of all sizes who are looking to align with the most recognized name in fitness."

Gold's was in the news recently when a new location announced its plans to open next year. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that a new franchise will be opening up in West Covina, California, in the spring of 2011.
