Domino's tastes success, thanks to new recipe

Posted on November 16, 2010 by Stacey Fousse

As the old adage goes, the proof is in the pudding. But for one of the most well-known fast food franchises, the proof happens to be in the pizza.

Domino's Pizza, which for decades has been a favorite of those looking for a quick meal at a reasonable price, recently sought to improve its time-tested recipe, all in hopes of improving its image and flavor. The new recipe, which the franchise began reworking in 2008, helped sales at Domino's restaurants rise by 11.7 percent in the third quarter.

"We're pleased that people love our reformulated pizza, the value of our offer and our honest and straightforward communication of our brand values," said Domino's president and CEO, Patrick Doyle, in a statement earlier this year. "Despite these tough economic times, we continue to outperform the majority of the restaurant industry due to our energized domestic business and our powerful international division."

When a national brand changes it recipe, the positive results can be shared with all those associated with the franchise. Local operators will benefit from the research and added flavors developed by taste experts within the company.
