Expert touts franchising in down economy![]() Posted on November 16, 2010 by Stacey Fousse With the economy continuing to struggle to get back on its feet, many have found it hard to reach financial security. As one business expert writes, many have found a new way to earn a comfortable income in an extremely familiar place - franchising.Jeff Elgin, writing for Entrepreneur.com, says that there are three main advantages to opening up one's own franchise. The first advantage he points to is the fact that the new business will more often than not generate a "significant income" for the franchisee. Though he cautions that it will take hard work by the person running the location, it has proven time and time again to be profitable. The second reason he points to is that after a person has successfully run a franchise for years, he or she can see a noticeable boon to their bottom line when they decide that it's time to sell the business. Finally, he says that there are tax advantages that franchise owners can get from the government by associating themselves with a larger brand. Franchising opportunities are one of the most exciting ways that a person can turn around their fortunes. It is important to find what you are passionate about in order to turn a long-shot dream into reality.
