Davie, Florida (July 27, 2009) – FROOTS, a rapidly growing quick service food and smoothies franchise, is pleased to announce that Lynn Barousse has joined FROOTS as the Area Developer for Louisianna, Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

Barousse, a resident of Madisonville, Louisianna, did a lot of research before joining the FROOTS system. "Froots really stood out from the other businesses I investigated. I was impressed that it had been nominated by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the fastest growing franchises in 2009," he said, "which is a sure sign of a strong franchise system. I also noticed that Froots stores display a positive atmosphere where people enjoyed working and where customers really enjoyed the food being served. Finally, I was won over by the system itself, with the low initial investment and a simple to operate concept."

As an Area Developer with FROOTS, Barousse looks forward to helping others open new FROOTS locations. "I feel we have an excellent opportunity that really meets the needs of the public," Barousse said. "Everyone is aware that we have a health crisis in this country and that the lack of healthy options in quick service food is partially to blame for the current problem of obesity in Americans. That’s why FROOTS restaurants are welcomed so readily into communities."

The FROOTS restaurant franchise was created by David Lopez and has been franchising since 2004. Lopez discovered the popularity of fresh fruit smoothies while in college and turned his part-time job into a full-time passion. Besides smoothies, FROOTS offers a number of healthy food and beverage choices, making it a popular spot for families. Diners have many options for low fat and low calorie meals, and the smoothies are made with fresh berries, bananas or more exotic tropical blends. There is also a children’s menu, created to please even the pickiest eaters.

Barousse, a father of an 11-year-old son, Jensen, understands the desire of parents to be able to offer something besides pizza and burgers to children. \"FROOTS not only offers healthy food, our restaurants serve some of the most delicious quick service meals you can find,\" he said. Barousse graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelors degree in business and in his previous careers was director of sales and business development for software development businesses. His community involvement includes coaching baseball and basketball teams at Pelican Park recreational facility and is a member of both the Eastern and Western Tammany Chambers.
