CEO Jeff Elgin Discusses State of the Franchise Industry on C:Suite Sit-Down

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – Jeff Elgin, founder and CEO of FranChoice, recently sat down with Jenna Lee of FOX Business Morning C:Suite Sit-Down to discuss the current state of franchising, as well as the industry’s outlook for 2009.

Elgin, an expert on the franchise industry, feels that franchising and other small businesses will be the cure for an ailing economy in 2009 by creating many new jobs. And, while a recent report issued by the International Franchise Association stated that 2009 will be a tough year for franchising, Elgin pointed out that franchise ownership provides another employment avenue for those who have been laid off.

With consumer spending and retail sales down and a wavering job market, Elgin agreed that it is tough out there – particularly for a small businessperson looking for financing.
