Franchising expert thanks parents and stresses importance of good staff

In a recent interview with BusinessWeek, one successful entrepreneur spoke of his success in the world of New York Franchising.

Solomon Choi, who grew up in Southern California, now runs 16 Handles frozen yogurt shops in the city's East Village. He learned a lot from his parents, who ran two different Japanese seafood buffets. Shortly after graduating from college, Choi went to work in the business world before getting a phone call from his dad, he told the magazine.

"My father reached out to me to help him run his restaurant in San Diego, where there was a lot of competition from the hotels. We turned around that business and sold it in 2005. During that time I saw how a business is run and how you report to franchise owners," Choi told the news source.

Choi suggests that when starting a franchise, the most important element is to have the right employees. He said that starting a business depends on having reliable employees and chefs in order to make sure everything runs smoothly and is up to a certain standard.

Though running a restaurant franchise isn't easy, many find that it is a dream come true. By combining good locations and quality service, food franchising could be just what the doctor ordered - for dinner that is!ADNFCR-3302-ID-19918712-ADNFCR
