Hair salon franchise gives Connecticut entrepreneurs 'Fantastic' opportunity

One of the fastest-growing franchise trends in the United States today is hair salons. And thanks to a recent announcement by the head of one of the largest salon franchises in the country, entrepreneurs in Connecticut will soon be getting brand new franchise opportunities.

The CEO of Fantastic Sams, Scott Colabuono, said that he was looking to open 10 new franchises in the Greater Hartford area in the next three to five years, the Hartford Business Journal reports. In a recent interview with the news source, Colabuono said that he was looking forward to growing the business in the Nutmeg State.

He said that despite the fact that much of the economy is struggling, his franchise continues to find success.

"While many brands protected their spending in 2009, we continued to market, spend and grow our brand," said Colabuono in an interview with the newspaper. "Even during this down-turned economy, there is opportunity. It was proven last year that our business model was recession resistant, in fact, many of our salon owners experienced revenue increases of up to 10 percent."

Fantastic Sams recently made headlines when it was announced that franchisees in Wisconsin would get the opportunity to save 50 percent off of the initial franchise fee and 50 percent off of product expenses. The franchise has more 1,300 locations around the U.S.
