Hardee's to open three new restaurants in South Dakota

Thanks to recent real estate purchases, three new hamburger franchises will be coming to South Dakota cities in the next few years.

The Argus Leader reports that the Northland Restaurant Group recently bought locations previously owned and operated by Z'kota Grille in Sioux Falls and Brookings. The new restaurants will be turned into franchises by early 2011, according to a spokesman for Northland.

Janelle Krause, marketing manager for Northland Restaurant group (which is an approved national franchise for Hardee's), told the news source that the city's economic viability was one of its most attractive features.

"The community did receive Hardee's really well when they were Hardee's restaurants," she told the Leader. "That will speak to the fact that I think they will receive Hardee's really well when we come back."

This won't be the first time that Sioux Falls gets a Hardee's. The news source reports that from 1978 until 2002, several Hardee's could be found in the area before they were turned into Z'kotas.

Hardee's recently made national headlines after introducing the Country Fried Steak 'N' Biscuit to its menu.
