Home Helpers of San Diego Honored with 2009 Women in Business Award
Nandini Chinnagini Recognized as Successful Female Business Owner by National Publication
CINCINNATI - Nandini Chinnagini, owner of Home Helpers in San Diego, Calif., was recently recognized by the IndUS Business Journal as an outstanding
female business owner making a huge impact on the nation's South Asian business community. The award recipients were announced on December 9, 2009, in
the publication's annual supplement.
The Women in Business Awards were designated to honor South Asian women, not only for their contributions to the South Asian business community in the
United States, but also to the nation's overall business community and for setting a tremendous example of women's success in the workplace.
Chinnagini left India in 1995 to follow her husband's career in America. She put herself through school and graduated Magna Cum Laude from California
State University in 2002. After taking some time following graduation to raise her family, Nandini wanted a piece of the "American Dream" - to open and
operate her own business. She decided to open Home Helpers based on her personal experiences dealing with ailing loved ones.
"It is an honor to be presented with this award," Chinnagini said. "As a female business owner of South Asian descent, it is a huge achievement to
receive an award that represents such accomplishments in both the South Asian and national business communities. Starting my Home Helpers business has
allowed me to impact the South Asian business community, while helping to improve the lives of seniors and families throughout San Diego."
Home Helpers offers free in-home consultations and works with individual clients and their families to tailor flexible care plans to meet their
specific needs and budgets. Services offered may include companionship, grocery shopping, meal preparation, transportation, assistance bathing and
dressing, medication reminders and light housekeeping.
"We are truly honored to have Nandini as a part of our Home Helpers family," Emma Dickison, president of Home Helpers, said. "Since opening her
business in September of 2009, she has continued serve as a role model for other female owners within our franchise system."
