IFA and AAG team up to help former athletes discover franchising opportunities![]() Posted on July 13, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin When professional athletes finish their sports careers, many find themselves looking for their next professions. For many athletes, the answer may lie in franchising.The International Franchise Association and the Allied Athlete Group recently announced that they were teaming up in order to help athletes get involved in the franchising field. The Allied Athlete Group IFA Franchise Summit 2010 will give professional athletes the opportunity to learn more about the business. "We are thrilled to partner with AAG to provide an educational platform for athletes interested in acquiring franchises," said IFA Director of Education and Diversity Miriam Brewer. "This summit is primed to become a landmark event by exposing professional athletes to the opportunity and long-term stability that franchising can provide." The CEO of the AAG, Michael Stone, said that his organization was looking forward to partnering with the IFA. Stone noted that "by partnering with the IFA, we can leverage the expertise of lending franchise companies to bring the power of franchising to professional athletes." The AAG was in the news recently when it announced that Hunter Groton of BYN Mellon Wealth management group would be the newest member of the ALLIEDAngel Program. The programs seeks to connect businesses and professional athletes' organizations. In the latest collaboration, Hunter hosted a benefit dinner for AAG member Takeo Spikes' 51 Ways Foundation.
