IFA chief speaks at New England Franchise Association event

Posted on October 12, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin

At an event in Massachusetts, the CEO of one of the leading franchise associations spoke to people in the industry about challenges ahead and lessons from the past.

Stephen J. Caldeira, who is head of the International Franchise Association, spoke at a New England Franchise Association event, pointing to his experience in the field of franchising and giving guidance to those in attendance. He drew on his time at Dunkin Donuts, where he held the position of director of global communications, while speaking to the crowd at a Marriott Hotel in Newton.

"Franchising is not immune to the current economic shift," said Caldeira. "I'll talk about how the franchising community is impacted, the trends that are apparent and the future of where franchising is heading. These are not times to be reactive. Franchisors are taking bold steps to maintain momentum."

Caldeira has made news in recent months after meeting with staffers at the White House. During the meeting, the IFA's CEO expressed concerns shared by people in the franchising industry.
