Indianapolis man starts trucking franchise![]() Posted on September 21, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin After getting fed up with other corporations in the Indianapolis area, one entrepreneur and his father opened up a trucking franchise in order to do business their own way.The Indianapolis Star reports that in 2005, Drew Werling and his father, Tim, opened up a trucking franchise, and witnessed a steady rate of growth in just a few years. Three years after opening the business, Werling added three new locations in the area and built a headquarters. Werling said that the key to his success was having knowledgeable people working for him. "The strength of the system. Having the knowledge base of the franchisees is irreplaceable. We are constantly sharing ideas for improvement," Werling said in an interview with the news source. "Others have made mistakes before me, but with the franchise support, I can avoid making those by asking questions before we change operations or start a new initiative." Werling went on to say that it was important for anyone looking to get involved in franchising to do the necessary research before deciding which field he or she wanted to get involved in. While it can be a risky move to start one's own franchise, many entrepreneurs find success with franchise opportunities that are already available. Many franchises have support programs for those looking to get involved.
