KFC gets listing on SBA's Franchise registry![]() Posted on August 17, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin Entrepreneurs hoping to open their own KFC franchises will soon be able to move to the front of the line when it comes to getting loans from the government. The U.S. Small Business Administration has officially listed KFC as one of the companies on its franchise registry. With its inclusion, franchisees will now be able to get loans from the governmental agency without the normal waiting period and "red tape" as they try to open their own business, expand the number of restaurants or help an existing franchise. "In today's economic and credit environment, any step you can take to assist franchisees with meeting their growth plans is vitally important," said Scott Haner, director of franchising for KFC. "We want to give our franchisees every possible edge in securing financing for new restaurants." The Franchise Registry helps the SBA automatically know which franchises meet its standards and helps agents act more quickly in the loan process. KFC received other good news recently when a labor dispute was settled with workers at a union in the Bahamas, the Tribune reports.
