Keys to a successful franchise: Be passionate![]() Posted on October 19, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin One of the most important ingredients for any successful franchisee is to be passionate abut the business they choose to be involved in.When selecting a franchise, one should consider a field that they consider themselves knowledgeable in, or one that they are willing to learn as much as possible about. One of the most successful franchises of late to find passionate business owners is Great Harvest Bread. The high-quality bread franchise said that it looked for people who could combine a love of food and running a business. Great Harvest Bread's director of development is Debbie Huber. In a recent interview, she stressed the importance of getting behind the brand. "Of course they have to be financially strong enough and have the working capital to take on the risk,'' said Huber in an interview with Inc. magazine. "But we really try to figure out if they're passionate about the business. That doesn't necessarily mean they have to be passionate about selling bread. They can be passionate about food in general, or it can be a different aspect of running a business, like growing and nurturing employees, or giving back to the community." By being passionate about the business, the work of a franchisee may not even seem like work at all. As the old saying goes, if you love what you do, then you'll never work a day in your life.
