Koko FitClub receives fitness industry’s top innovation award.![]() Posted on December 19, 2008 by Pete Kosowski PEMBROKE, MASS – Fitness Management Magazine has recognized Koko FitClub, LLC flagship location for "Outstanding Innovation in Websites and New Technology" in the publication’s 15th annual 2008 Nova7 Awards for Winning Innovations. Each year, the Nova7 awards are handed out to fitness facilities and suppliers who have demonstrated outstanding performance, innovation and product development in seven categories of excellence. Past winners read like a who’s who list of the fitness industry’s leading players. "Just being considered for a Nova7 Award is truly an honor," said Koko FitClub president and cofounder, Mary Obana. "It is the industry’s most prestigious award and competition is increasing every year. We’re thrilled that the industry has so quickly recognized our unique dedication to developing new technologies that help our members achieve such tremendous success reaching their health and fitness goals." Koko FitClub received Nova7 accolades for its member web site, MyKokoFitness.com. The password protected site works like a personal fitness dashboard for each member. Without requiring any self-reporting on the member’s part, Koko automatically tracks and reports every detail of each member’s workout as performed on Koko’s computer-guided Smartraining system of strength and cardio equipment. On their personalized "MyKokoFitness" webpage, members can see the results of each workout session, preview upcoming sessions and review cumulative workout history, as well as track progress on other key metrics such as calories burned, diet activity points earned, and weight lifted. Most importantly, users can also easily see quantifiable strength and fitness improvements. MyKokoFitness tallies the member’s Koko Points, which are awarded based on workout performance. The web site also provides trainer tips and a feedback tool for ensuring greater customer satisfaction and continuous improvement to the facility and its Smartraining equipment. "Koko FitClub’s Smartraining System coupled with the MyKokoFitness website gives our members a whole new way to exercise. Our technology provides personal guidance customized to each member with equally engaging activity reporting so members stay on track and keep motivated every step of the way. It’s a combination that really works." says Lauren Dell’Olio, director, customer communication.
