Many franchises soar with a woman's touch![]() Posted on July 23, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin More and more women are becoming the faces of franchises around the country.Gone are the days when the field was dominated primarily by men. According to recent statistics, women are getting more involved than ever before. The Franchise Magazine reports that 59 percent of new franchises are opened jointly by a man and woman, and that 22 percent of new franchises were solely operated by women without a male partner. "Many women who have been running a home and raising a family have many of the attributes needed to run a business successfully," says HSBC's head of franchising, Cathryn Hayes. "They're decisive, energetic, organize well and are used to doing at least three things at once! If you have these qualities, you may well be suited to running your own business - and if you're unsure of what to do, then franchising could be just the thing." All over the country, women are getting more involved in the business community. The Chamber of Commerce in Phoenix, Arizona, recently hosted the Women's Luncheon and Business Expo in order to bring women in the business community together.
