Marco's Pizza to expand in California
Nidhi Gupta and Deepak Gupta, a former senior executive with a number of global high technology firms and who has grown tech companies from zero to $100-million in revenues, will bring their business savvy to the world of pizza with the opening of up to 36 Marcos Pizza stores in the East Bay and Central Valley areas of northern California.
Jack Butorac, Jr., president of Marcos Franchising, who launched the 30-year-old chain from Toledo, Ohio, on a growth curve with a team of franchise development specialists with more than 200 years of collective experience, announced the agreement.
"We were looking for a pizza that stood out from the rest and Marcos fits the bill," Gupta said. "Marcos ability to grow aligns well with our plans and business experience. Marcos" is a specialty pizza product at very competitive prices, outstanding service, and they have an experienced management team and happy franchisees that are the cornerstone of their growth plans."
Gupta said he will open the first few Marcos Pizza in California during first half of 2009.
Marcos Pizza recently reported the seventh straight quarter for same store sales increases. Marcos will open some 50 stores this year and is currently in 14 United States.
The California Marcos will serve the Marcos menu of custom made pizzas, fresh baked subs, salads, chicken wings and soft drinks with carry out, delivery and some sit down service.
