New appointments help restaurant franchises expand

One of the best ways for franchises to gain ground on their competition is by appointing qualified professionals to high-level positions within the corporation. By hiring those with extensive knowledge and experience, brands will be able to grow and help people take advantage of franchising opportunities.

In a recent appointment, Pizza Inn named Kendra Sheir as its new vice president of marketing, in order to reinvent the brand for the 21st century. With more than 20 years of experience, Shier will focus on adding new locations, gaining larger market shares, remodeling old locations and formulating new advertising campaigns.

Pizza Inn reported its earnings recently for the first quarter of fiscal year 2011. The franchise reported a 6.3 percent increase in total revenue, totaling $10.6 million.
