New sandwiches can generate excitement for franchises![]() Posted on October 28, 2010 by Stacey Fousse Introducing beloved menu-items to franchises all over the world can help business owners increase sales and draw attention to their restaurants like never before. After establishing a loyal following, one brand has taken its over-the-top sandwich across the border to Canada, to positive reviews.KFC restaurants in Canada recently got the chance to experience what their southern neighbors have been chowing down on for months - the bun-less Double Down. Though the sandwich was just introduced, it is quickly becoming a favorite of Canadian customers everywhere. Local franchisees have been major beneficiaries of the craze that has swept the nation. The sandwich is so popular that many people have begun planning their social lives around the boneless chicken sandwich that features two pieces of bacon, pepper jack cheese and the Colonel's savory secret sauce. "It's official. Canada has taken down the Double Down and we've seen people planning Double Down parties with their friends, making videos, blogging and swapping Take Down stories and technique on our Facebook site," says Howe, referring to the marketing slogan for the sandwich. "It's just been phenomenal for KFC, our customers and our franchise partners across the country." New menu items are a great way for franchises to increase profits. When customers get genuinely excited about a new offering, the profits could start rolling in.
