Papa John's spreads the wealth![]() Posted on August 31, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin Papa John's recently announced the success of a pizza that took home the top prize in a contest.The franchise said it would be giving part of the profit from the "Cheesy Chicken Cordon Bleu," which was named the winner in the Papa's Specialty Pizza Challenge, to its creator, Barbara Hyman. In the month of August, the pizza proved to be incredibly popular, making up more than 45 percent of the 240,000 pizzas sold by the franchise as part of the contest. As part of her prize, Hyman will be given part of the profits from the contest as well as the chance to be seen by friends and family on television on a commercial. "It is incredibly exciting to create a pizza that may be featured on Papa John's menu," Hyman said. "The Cheesy Chicken Cordon Bleu pizza was born on a grocery shopping trip with my daughter. I wanted to create a spin on an old favorite recipe that my mother used to make." Papa Johns made other headlines recently after the finishing touches were put on Papa John's Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. The new stadium will be home to the Louisville Cardinals.
