Pharmacy Franchise Owners Association appoints David Mayper as head of organization![]() Posted on September 14, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin A veteran of the industry has been tapped to lead the Pharmacy Franchise Owners Association, according to a recently released statement from the group.David Mayper, who comes to the position with more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, will lead the PFOA as the trade association continues its quest to "preserve, protect and promote the interests of pharmacy franchise owners" around the country. One of the biggest reasons for Mayper's appointment was his ability to work with independent pharmacies and help them build relationships with major pharmaceutical distributors. "David is a seasoned executive with years of successful experience in guiding pharmacies through the process of negotiating agreements, earning favorable terms, and maintaining their competitiveness," said Todd Pendergraft, president of the PFOA board of directors. "The decline of the franchise system has accelerated the need for more owner-focused, value-added programs to support our members." The PFOA recently made social media progress with the launch of its own Facebook "fan" page. The new, interactive tool will allow users to find up-to-date information on the latest happenings of the PFOA and gather in one place to get advice from other pharmacy franchisees.
