Roosters Central Texas Regional Development Sold with Plans to Duplicate Opportunities![]() Posted on August 19, 2008 by Pete Kosowski Round Rock — Entrepreneurs Gordon and Krista Reina spent years searching for a secure investment opportunity before purchasing the first Central Texas regional development of Roosters Men’s Grooming Center headquartered in Round Rock, TX. Roosters was founded in 1999 and is known for combining modern grooming techniques with classic barbershop elements in an environment that is focused on men. “Roosters brings to life the stories my father and grandfather told me about barber shops in New York,” says Gordon Reina. “The hot towel treatment, lively conversation, and oversized leather chairs, all have a nostalgic sentiment for me.” The Reina’s plan to establish the region from San Marcos to Waco by opening 15 stores over the next five years while maintaining the respected Roosters brand. With experience in finance and marketing, they are particularly impressed with the grooming industry’s resistance to swings in the economy, as well as Roosters’ unique demographic and no-gimmick approach to business. “They [Reina’s] just get it,” says Aaron Grondin, President of Roosters. “Owning a Roosters franchise is not about money, it’s about the vision. Our vision is to recreate iconic barbershops where men can get a quality haircut in a place where they feel comfortable.” Sales of men’s grooming products and services have surged 68.6 percent from 2002 to 2005, compared to a six percent increase for women’s products. Today, approximately 78 percent of Americans believe men are more interested in personal grooming than they were previously (ACNielsen.com). These statistics ring true for Roosters, which currently has 24 franchises throughout the U.S. with 80 already sold and a limited number of regional developments remaining in Texas. With a combined 50 years of experience as professional master barbers, Joe Grondin and his son Aaron are transforming the landscape of men’s grooming services from five minute haircuts to a more relaxed experience, and for the first time, opening up regional development opportunities nation-wide. As regional developers, the Reina’s are excited to be a part of Central Texas’ rapid growth by taking a national concept and making it a timeless local favorite.
