Sport Clips celebrates 700th store with record-setting event![]() Posted on July 26, 2010 by Franchise Gator Admin When it comes to promotions, many franchises use charity events in order to not only help out the communities they serve, but also to help bring attention to the local establishments.Sport Clips, a franchise specializing in boys' and men's haircuts, recently celebrated the opening of its 700th store in White Marsh, Maryland, by setting a world record for haircuts performed in a 12-hour period. In addition to attempting to set the record, the franchise also asked patrons to give $7 to the Baltimore Orioles REACH foundation. At the end of the day, the franchise had completed some 329 haircuts and also gotten a visit from some very special guests. Past and current members of the Baltimore Orioles were on hand to take part in the festivities, including Dave Johnson, Scott McGregor, Jason Berken and Rick Dempsey. "Sport Clips is committed to being active in the communities we are fortunate to be a part of, and partnering with teams and charities such as Orioles REACH is a winning way to welcome the 700th store to our franchise system," said Gordon Logan, CEO of Sport Clips. When it comes to promoting a franchise, having record-breaking events is a great way to get people in the door. By showing a commitment to good causes, businesses can demonstrate to many in the area that they are a part of the community.
