Zagat survey ranks top fast food franchises

When it comes to rating fast food franchises, one of the nation's most respected surveys recently revealed the results of an online poll.

Zagat came out with a survey that covered 97 major fast food chains in addition to 39 full service chains and asked 6,518 Zagat.com diners which ones they liked the best. The survey dealt with people who reported eating fast food an average of 10.7 times a month and asked them about which restaurants had the best selections of seafood, smoothies and cheeseburgers, among other items.

"It's virtually impossible to live anywhere in America without having a fast food chain outlet in the neighborhood. We know that these chains play an important role in feeding our population. That's the reason why we undertook this survey and why we believe the results are so important," said Tim Zagat, CEO of Zagat Survey.

One of the biggest winners of the survey this year was Wendy's, which won the Top Food prize after coming out on top in many fields of the Mega-Chain category.

The Wendy's sister franchise, Arby's, recently made headlines when it was announced that it would be seeking to replace its advertising agency, Merkley + Partners, with another firm.
