AMERICA BEWARE: Scam Artists Live for Tax Season![]() Posted on March 12, 2008 by Bill Dube Famed 'Tax Lady’ Roni Deutch Warns Americans to Not Accept Calls, Emails From IRS Sacramento, CA – As the April 15, 2008 tax deadline quickly approaches, Roni Deutch, owner Roni Lynn Deutch, A Professional Tax Corporation, the largest tax resolution law firm in the United States, and founder the Roni Deutch Tax Center®, warns America to beware during the tax season as scam artists prey on unsuspecting taxpayers by manipulating them to provide their private financial information.
“It is important for Americans to be very aware during the tax season,” Ms. Deutch said. “The IRS will never call or email you. You will receive notices from the IRS via snail mail only. Americans should be conscious that scam artists are actively making calls and sending emails asking for private financial information. Do not provide them your financial information! Instead, you should contact your local authorities and the IRS to immediately alert them of a scam.” Thousands of scam reports are being filed with local authorities and the IRS suggesting that people are being called or emailed with requests to provide their private financial information. One such scam proclaims that a select group of Americans can receive their tax rebate stimulus early. The IRS will never call or email taxpayers about these stimulus payments nor will it ask taxpayers for their financial information, states the IRS’s official Web site. Americans can expect two informational snail mail notices to taxpayers advising them of the stimulus payments, which will begin distribution in May 2008. Ms. Deutch launched the Roni Deutch Tax Center® in 2007 to offer consumers and business owners competent, professional tax return preparation. After helping tens of thousands of people save anywhere from $5,000 to $4 million in IRS debt over the past 16 years through her California-based tax resolution law firm, Ms. Deutch is on a double-pronged mission – ironically, to eliminate the need for tax resolution by providing Americans with competent, professional tax return preparation, and to provide a recession-proof business opportunity for entrepreneurs seeking a piece of the booming tax preparation industry. According to the IRS, 134 million individual income tax returns were filed last year and 62 percent of Americans hired a tax professional to prepare their return. And the IRS is projecting an increase in returns filed to 146 million by the year 2014. “Over the past 16 years I have seen the devastating effect and hardships that sloppy, unprofessional and inaccurate tax return preparation can have on people’s lives,” Ms. Deutch said. “I’ve helped people with their IRS tax problems, but now I want to prevent them from getting into trouble in the first place. Roni Deutch Tax Center hopes to eventually help millions of people avoid costly mistakes they would otherwise have to spend years paying for. I’m calling it preventive medicine for tax liability.” About Roni Deutch Tax Center Roni Deutch has built her reputation as one of the most successful tax lawyers through hard work and dedication to the needs of taxpayers. Her competitive spirit and insatiable work ethic have made her a household name with one out of three American adults knowing the name Roni Deutch. Through her years of practice, Ms. Deutch saw that many of her clients' tax problems were caused by sloppy and unprofessional tax return preparation. As a result, Ms. Deutch decided it was time to put her experience to work for taxpayers across the country. Roni Deutch Tax Center is now filling the need for competent tax return preparation. An affordable franchise opportunity, a Roni Deutch Tax Center franchisee can expect to pay somewhere between $59,000 and $93,000 to open a tax center with the average investment being about $65,000 for one location. Additionally, Roni Deutch Tax Center has recently launched its Area Developer program, in which entrepreneurs can own, operate and develop 50 Roni Deutch Tax Center locations in their local market.
