DUCTZ Franchise Owner Gus Gruber Expands into Charlotte, North Carolina, from his Raleigh Hub![]() Posted on June 04, 2008 by Bill Dube CHARLOTTE, NC- Gus Gruber launched DUCTZ of The Triangle in Raleigh in February 2006. Within a year he began receiving service calls outside the territory. To meet the demand for business, Gus set his sights 170 miles west on Charlotte—North Carolina’s largest city. Gruber signed his Charlotte franchise agreement April 31, 2008. “On May 6, I received a 6AM call from the Charlotte BELFOR office. A Wal-Mart in Kannapolis [25 miles northeast of Charlotte] sustained fire damage, and BELFOR needed our help to restore the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system,” said Gus. “I was there by noon to make an assessment. We brought in seven technicians—five from my office and two on loan from another DUCTZ owner—and we completed the job in two days.” Venezuelan natives Gus and Lissette Gruber are living the American Dream. “The Grubers increased sales 500 percent in 2007, and received our DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals’ Shining Star Award for ‘continuing to grow an outstanding business through perseverance, a strong team dynamic; and a positive, service-minded, attitude,’” said John Rotche, DUCTZ president. Gus will split time between Raleigh and Charlotte, and once the market is developed, he plans to have a fulltime technician living there. DUCTZ is America’s largest heating, ventilation and air conditioning restoration business. About DUCTZ: DUCTZ is a BELFOR Company, the premier provider of property recovery services in North America, and the world’s largest disaster restoration company with 3,200 employees in 160 locations across 25 countries.
