The introduction of the Firehouse Subs brand to new markets is part of a deal that will bring approximately 40 Firehouse Subs franchises to those areas over the next five years, with the first restaurant slated to open in early April in Northern Virginia. Leading the way will be 12-year restaurant veteran and Virginia native Daniel Lowe. As area representative for the new markets, Lowe and his wife, Lindsay Lowe, will be responsible for selling individual locations to franchisees, which typically operate one to five restaurants and oversee day-to-day operations. “I am proud to represent the Firehouse Subs brand in my home state of Virginia, as well as, Maryland, and Washington D.C.” said Lowe. “We are committed to serving the highest quality subs in a family-friendly environment, and look forward to being a part of these growing communities.” Prior to joining Firehouse Subs, Lowe was with Domino’s Pizza in Orlando, Fla. He also served as general manager of Papa John’s in Northern Virginia, opening seven restaurants in a four-year period. “We’re thrilled to welcome Daniel and Lindsay to our team and are excited to watch them succeed in this new territory,” said Firehouse Subs’ COO Don Fox. “We have high expectations for growth in the Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland and Washington D.C. areas under their direction.” Firehouse Subs Expands into D.C./add one About Firehouse Subs Firehouse Subs, founded in Jacksonville, Fla. by former firefighting brothers Robin and Chris Sorensen, is a 261-unit fast-casual restaurant chain that specializes in hot subs.
