Henrico County Leader New Hawaiian-themed business opens in Glen Allen
Maui Wowi Hawaiian franchise partner Juliette Sykes has opened the Richmond area's first built-in Maui Wowi retail location. Her store delivers a full line of the company's authentic Hawaiian products, healthy beverages and famous "Aloha Spirit" to customers in the Innsbrook Shoppes in Glen Allen. During the store's grand opening celebration on Friday, March 16, Sykes plans to demonstrate her community spirit by donating 10 percent of proceeds to the Richmond Montessori School. Sykes, whose three young children attend Richmond Montessori School, is also a certified Montessori instructor, who formerly taught at the school. "I'm excited to offer people in my community the opportunity to escape to paradise, where they can experience Maui Wowi's healthy beverages and authentic Hawaiian products," Sykes said. "And, by supporting Richmond Montessori during the store's grand opening, I can also help the many students who depend on the school." Sykes plans a variety of entertainment during her March 16 grand opening celebration-from hula dancers to local magician Brad Matchett. Besides being a Montessori instructor, Sykes was a CPA and then a stay at home mom before becoming a Maui Wowi franchisee. She lives with her husband Scott and their children in Chesterfield County.
