Oradell, NJ (Grassroots Newswire) - NJBIZ, Amper, Politziner & Mattia, Wolf Block, and Rutgers Camden School of Business announced last week that Huntington Learning Center had been selected as one of seven finalists for the NJBIZ 2007 Business of the Year Award in the "Business of the Year 101+ Employees category." The Business of the Year Award recognizes companies and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the state of New Jersey, both in their industries and communities. These companies and executives will be honored at a prestigious event highlighting their accomplishments and in a special supplement to the November 12th issue of NJBIZ. Thirty companies and six individual finalists will be recognized during this prestigious event. Out of this elite group, five businesses and one individual will be honored for their outstanding contributions to New Jersey's business community. Eileen and Ray Huntington co-founded Huntington Learning Center in 1977, opening their first center in Oradell, New Jersey. Ray serves as Chairman of the company's Board of Directors and Eileen as its Executive Vice President. As pioneers in the for-profit education industry, the Huntingtons opened their first learning center in 1977, with the goal of offering students professional tutoring by which they could improve their academic skills. Their mission is to give every student the best education possible. They have grown their business to more than 350 Huntington Learning Centers in over 40 states. In their 30th year of business, the Huntingtons have seen thousands of student success stories. Eileen and Ray measure their success not only by improved school performance, but also increased confidence, attention, motivation and better relationships with parents and teachers. Eileen and Ray will represent Huntington Learning Center at the awards reception on November 7th to accept this honor that Ray had categorized as a tribute to the great contributions everyone (at Huntington) makes to the company.
