DATELINE: WESTBOROUGH, MA and CORONADO, CAâ¦L&W Investigations, a private investigations firm specializing in insurance claims, recently announced the acquisition of its Northern California office by Bradshaw Unz. Based in Coronado, California, the new L&W office will cover all four Bay area cities and Sacramento, as well as the rest of Northern California. Unz comes to L&W Investigations after more than two decades in law enforcement and corporate security. Most recently Unz held the position of Head of Corporate Security for Nokia, Inc. after more than 10 years with the company in various security management and investigative positions. In addition, he served as a police chief in Grant Park, Illinois and as a police officer in both Illinois and Florida. Unz holds master’s degree in security management from Stafford University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in criminology, also from Stafford. “We’re extremely excited about Brad Unz acquiring our Northern California office. His years in upper management at a company the magnitude of Nokia and running a town police department, as well as his experience as an investigator make him an ideal fit for our company,” said Neal Lyons, CEO and chairman of L&W Investigations. L&W Investigations works with a variety of organizations-- insurance companies, third-party administrators, self-insured companies, law firms and municipalities—on workers compensation, disability, liability, auto and property claims. Among L&W’s offerings include: surveillance; statements; activity/disability checks; asset/background investigations; and medical audits/clinic inspections. “Our national approach to investigating insurance cases has proven to be very effective for clients who have regional offices covering more than one state,” said Lyons. “It’s a concept that’s also quite attractive to entrepreneurs like Brad Unz who know the in’s and out’s of corporate security and law enforcement and see the future of investigating insurance claims in how we do things at L&W.” L&W employs seasoned investigators who specialize in investigating insurance cases and claims.
