Kinderdance™ Announces New Fitness Program To Fight Against Childhood Obesity!

Melbourne, FL, – Childhood obesity has become a worldwide epidemic, affecting an estimated 22 million children under age 5!  In the United States, one-third of children are either obese or at risk of becoming obese, according to a 2006 federal report, “Progress in Preventing Childhood Obesity: How Do We Measure Up?”

“All children and adolescents should engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity on most, preferably all, days of the week,” said Karen A. Donato, coordinator of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s Obesity Education Initiative.

In answer to this serious problem, Kinderdance®, a national and worldwide Franchise with 107 Franchises located in 35 states and 4 countries has developed KINDERMOTION®, a new fitness program aimed at young children.  The program is a developmentally designed Education through Motor Shills, Physical Development, Fitness, Nutritional and Imagery program that prepares students minds and bodies for athletic and academic pursuits.  Kindermotion also strengthens children’s communication and leadership abilities in boys and girls age three to twelve.  The program focuses on the Mind/Body Connection while building self-esteem and self-confidence in young children.
