Navis Pack & Ship Opens Fourth Southern California Unit

Posted on December 04, 2007 by Bill Dube

Palmdale, Calif. - Navis Pack & Ship has opened its fourth location in Southern California this week, continuing an aggressive drive to complete a network of 260 locations across the United States and 30 in Canada in four years.  Two other Navis units opened during November in Northern California and Florida, and another will open near Toronto in December.

Marvin and Tracy McClanahan are the new franchise operators in Palmdale. In addition to the Antelope Valley (Lancaster and Palmdale), their territory covers the Santa Clarita Valley (Valencia and Newhall) and the industrial northern San Fernando Valley (Chatsworth).

Marvin McClanahan had spent most of his working career in transportation and logistics and was attracted to Navis because of the great fit with his background. Tracy McClanahan plans to join their business in four years after she retires from her career as a detective with a large Southern California police department.

The McClanahans qualified for a discount on their franchise fee under the International Franchise Association’s VetFran program. Several military veterans are successful franchise operators in the Navis Pack & Ship network, and the company welcomes veterans to apply.

About Navis Pack & Ship

Navis Pack & Ship is a business-to-business, warehouse-based franchise opportunity that specializes in packaging, crating, transportation, and logistics services for items that are difficult to ship. The company’s diverse clientele ranges from art galleries, auction houses, estate settlement professionals and interior designers, to companies that need to move electronic equipment and machinery.

Navis also serves residential consumers who are moving furniture, art or household goods, but have less than a mover’s minimum load.  Navis ships across the country and internationally.

Franchise operators receive extensive training in handling fragile, large, awkward and valuable goods, assistance in warehouse site selection and build-out, and support with marketing, sales, operations, technology and hiring employees.

Navis Pack & Ship is aggressively recruiting for its remaining open territories in Southern California, including 15 in greater Los Angeles and two in San Diego. It also has prime territories available in Boston, Washington DC, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, Portland and other areas.
