New Year, New Roles At Spring-Green

Posted on February 06, 2008 by Bill Dube

Corporation Promotes from Within, Restructures for the Future

(Plainfield, IL)---For many, January is the perfect time for a fresh start and to outline the year ahead. The mentality at Spring-Green Lawn Care is no exception, as the company has named two of its own employees to new and exciting roles to start the year.

Since joining the Spring-Green team in 2007 as the director of consumer marketing, Mark Vance has ramped up marketing initiatives to propel the company to a new level. It is because of this innovation that Vance has been promoted to vice president of consumer marketing. According to Spring-Green president James Young, Vance was a perfect addition to the company’s already strong team.

“Spring-Green was well on its way in a complete makeover, turning this once telemarketing company into a direct mailing machine with a revitalized brand.  Mark was not only able to take the journey but he proved from day one that he was the contributor we hoped he would be,” said Young. “Now that the dust has started to settle, Mark will begin to stretch his legs and bring many of his experiences to play.  Spring-Green has never been in a stronger position to win and with Mark’s new leadership I could not be more excited about the future of Spring-Green Lawn Care.”

Another big change at Spring-Green involves franchise start-up manager Ted Hofer. After spending the past six months managing company-owned operations in the Chicago area, Hofer has gained a vast understanding of all aspects of the company. He returns to the corporate side as Spring-Green’s new vice president and one step closer to succeeding his father, Tom Hofer, as the company’s CEO.

“Tom and I have worked closely for the last few years in putting this succession plan into place and I could not be more pleased with Ted’s development,” said Young. “He has all the right characteristics to lead this organization and continues to gain the experiences needed to lead Spring-Green for the next 30 years.”

Plainfield, Illinois-based Spring-Green has been delivering lawn and tree care services nationwide for the past 30 years. Its service is centered on the beautification of residential and commercial customers in middle-class and affluent neighborhoods and communities. Spring-Green is an attractive opportunity for candidates who do not want to be tied to a storefront operation, retail hours or set appointments. Franchisees enjoy flexibility and an outdoor-based business with recurring revenue.
