The Dwyer Group Looking to Grow More Concepts

The Dwyer Group, one of the world's largest franchising organizations with more than 1,260 North American-based franchises, is looking to expand its reach to include additional service and repair-based franchisors. The company has launched a new section on its website where potential franchisors can get a detailed look at the acquisition strategy and criteria.

According to Dina Dwyer-Owens, chairwoman and CEO of The Dwyer Group, the organization is in a leadership role to grow additional concepts across the country due to the incredible success experienced with their seven current franchise brands including Rainbow International, Mr. Rooter, Aire Serv, Mr. Electric, Mr. Appliance, Glass Doctor and The Grounds Guys.

"For me, it's not just about adding a new concept to our company," Dwyer-Owens said. "It's about helping a franchisor realize its vision with our strong Code of Values and support, and then growing that brand on a national level to exceed customers' expectations for services that are in demand."

TZP Group LLC, the private equity firm that acquired The Dwyer Group in a $150-million transaction in December 2010 will be supporting the expansion. Together, the companies will target residential and light commercial repair and maintenance companies that have a proven record of profitability and can deliver additional services to the company's existing brands such as moving, pest-control, pool cleaning, maid service, painting and roofing. Companies must have a minimum EBITDA of $2 million to qualify.
