TSS Photography Launches 'Volunteer of the Year' Award Program![]() Posted on April 07, 2008 by Bill Dube
Nation’s Leading Youth Photography Franchise Helps Communities Throughout America Recognize Local Heroes Atlanta – As the nation’s leading youth photography franchise with more than 230 locations in 42 states, TSS Photography has built a reputation for providing the highest quality services and products for school and sports portraits – and for making a difference in the lives and organizations within each community it has served for more than 25 years. Since its founding in 1983, TSS Photography’s culture has centered around grass-roots philanthropic outreach, and to celebrate its 25th anniversary, TSS Photography has launched the “Volunteer of the Year Award,” an award program that celebrates the local heroes that donate time, energy and kindness to improve and strengthen local communities. “By sponsoring the ‘Volunteer of the Year Award,’ we’re providing a way for citizens to show their appreciation for the time, dedication and inspiration that America’s volunteers put forth on a daily basis,” said Joe Lindenmayer, president of Atlanta-based TSS Photography. Youth organizations such as sports leagues and schools in participating states can recognize their valued volunteers by nominating them for this prestigious award. These volunteers could be a mentor, coach, colleague or anyone they think is deserving of this award. Groups are encouraged to visit www.tssphotography.com to submit a nomination form. All nomination forms need to be submitted by May 31, 2008 and winners will be announced on July 1, 2008. All “Volunteer of the Year Award” recipients will receive a $150 TSS Photography portrait package, a commemorative award plaque, and media and PR coverage of the award presentation. Also, $500 will be given to the nominating youth organization in the recipient’s name. A selection committee will award a “Volunteer of the Year Award” in each participating state and will also choose one national Grand Prize “Volunteer of the Year”. The winner of the national award receives a paid vacation to Atlanta, GA and will be honored at the TSS Photography national convention. Each “Volunteer of the Year” will be chosen based on specific criteria including the length of time the volunteer has dedicated, specific responsibilities and duties performed, specific actions performed that are considered beyond normal duties, and ways the volunteer has helped the lives of others. Nominations are reviewed by the “Volunteer of the Year” selection committee consisting of TSS Photography corporate executives and TSS Photography franchise owners. “Although national political figures and celebrities are usually the ones who receive appreciation for their charitable efforts, TSS Photography decided to find a way to recognize the true backbone of America – the local heroes that give freely of their time and compassion to improve and enrich the lives of those around them,” said Lindenmayer. About TSS Photography TSS Photography, founded in 1983, has grown to more than 230 units throughout the country and is now the number one choice in youth photography. TSS Photography offers franchise opportunities for a variety of protected territories and a 10 percent discount on all territory plans for veterans.
