![]() Seattle’s Best Coffee Opening New Doors![]() Posted on August 31, 2011 by Ben Baggett Seattle's Best Coffee, a branch of the Starbucks Corporation, announced the addition of 12 new store opening since April 2011. These 12 store openings will add to the nearly 100 Seattle's Best Coffee locations in the US and Canada. The last two locations are planned to open in the next few weeks. The coffee chain will have opened chains in a variety of venues, such as college campuses, airports, and city centers. Jim McDermet, Senior VP and General Manager of Seattle's Best, believes franchising the retail location will be the engine for continued growth. McDermet believes that the business is attractive to franchisees because of the opportunity of opening a premium coffee shop (a rapidly growing franchise industry) with the backing of an established brand like Seattle's Best and Starbucks Corporation. The National Coffee Association's 2011 coffee drinking trends study found that more than 40% of 18-24y year olds drink coffee; this is up from an average of 31% in 2010. This bodes well for a franchise like Seattle's Best, who serve college students at or near their schools. These colleges include: Georgia Tech, Duke University Medical Center, Virginia Tech, University of Southern California, Portland University, and State University of New York at New Paltz. About Seattle's Best Coffee Seattle's Best has been in business since 1970 and today they roast and serve more than 1 million cups of coffee a day. Seattle's Best Coffee LLC is available in more than 50,000 locations, including colleges, hotels, airlines, grocery stores, and theaters. Seattle's Best Coffee is currently ranked as one of the top 10 franchise opportunities by QSR Magazine.
