BrightStar Group Holdings, Inc. names Brian Schnell COO

BrightStar Group Holdings, Inc. has announced the addition of Brian Schnell as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer, as well as Kevin Pignone as VP of Field Support.  Schnell and Pignone join BrightStar Care®, a full-service healthcare staffing agency, as the franchisor plans to add at least five additional brands to the BrightStar family over the next few years, and open an additional 50 locations by the end of 2012.

Schnell comes to BrightStar from the Minneapolis law firm Faegre & Benson, where he served as a partner, counseling emerging and mature franchisors for over 25 years.  Schnell will report to CEO Shelly Sun and oversee the company's field operations team, company-owned store location, international development and contract administration.

Pignone joins BrightStar after more than 20 years at UPS, where he most recently served as VP of Domestic Development for UPS's Mail Boxes Etc. franchise. "Pignone's invaluable combination of experiences in sales management, franchise development and operational management will serve him well as he helps BrightStar franchisees strengthen and grow their business," says Shelly Sun. Pignone will report to COO Brian Schnell.

Schnell and Pignone join the company as Chuck Bailey resigns from his duties as President of BrightStar Care this month for family reasons.  Bailey has agreed to stay on as a consultant for the company.
