![]() Sport Clips Haircuts Exceeds $1 Million in Donations to VFW’s Operation Uplink™![]() Posted on February 22, 2012 by Jessica Dees Sport Clips Haircuts Exceeds $1 Million in Donations to VFW's Operation Uplink™ Free Call Day Program Sport Clips Haircuts today gave an additional $450,000 to the Veterans of Foreign Wars for the Operation Uplink program, which provides free phone calls to deployed and hospitalized troops. This donation brings the total given to the program by Sport Clips to over $1.3 million over the past five years. Sport Clips Founder/CEO Gordon Logan, a lifetime VFW member, recognizes the importance of helping the troops through this program, "Even as we welcome more of our service men and women back home, our commitment remains strong to those who are serving our country overseas and in hospitals and their families and loved ones. We appreciate all those who worked so hard to make this milestone donation possible," As the "Official Haircutter" of the VFW, the donations were gathered from each participating Sport Clips franchisee, and the money raised represents 17,610,355 minutes of free calls home for soldiers and hospitalized veterans.
