Atlanta, GA<\/strong> — 101 Mobility North Georgia celebrates a new distinction for co-owner Garol Orr as a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). The CAPS designation further identifies Garol as an expert in the field of aging-in-place, specifically in regards to modifying and remodeling homes to fit the needs of the aging and disabled. Aging in place is the process of living a comfortable and healthy life in the home while aging, rather than living with relatives or in an assisted care facility. For families across America, aging in place has become the number one choice for growing older, and Garol is excited to continue to serve the North Georgia community in this process.<\/p>\n

To earn her certification, Garol and her 35 classmates completed a rigorous three-day CAPS course with the Greater Atlanta Home Builder’s Association. Each of the six-hour sessions focused on a different aspect of aging in place, including marketing and communication, designing and building strategies, and business management. After each course, participants had to pass an examination testing their knowledge.
