Can you tell us more
\nabout the industry that Sweet and Sassy is involved in? <\/strong><\/p>\n

We are a retail store<\/a>, salon, and party place for girls and
\ntweens.  It’s a great business because
\ngirls are always having birthdays, getting their haircut, and wanting to have
\nfun with their friends.<\/p>\n

How has your industry
\nchanged in the last 10-20 years?  <\/strong><\/p>\n

It has changed
\nsignificantly in the last 10 years.  10
\nyears ago there was no special place for girls to be girls and get their hair
\ncut and be pampered in a child-friendly way. 
\nThey went to chains with their brothers. 
\nEar-piercing was at a department store and not an experience.  Most parties were at home 20 years ago.  Riding to your party in a hot pink limousine
\nfor a nominal additional fee wasn’t even an option!<\/p>\n

What trends do you see in your industry over the next 5
\nyears?  Next 10 years?  More growth and specialization.  It’s a niche industry and expanding as tweens
\nwant somewhere special for themselves.<\/p>\n

What is the biggest
\nconcern about your industry that a franchisee candidate should be aware of and
\ninvestigate?  <\/strong><\/p>\n

It is not something you can do as a hobby like some other
\nfranchises.  You are running a retail
\nstore, salon, and party place all under one roof.  It requires commitment and hard work to run
\nwell.<\/p>\n

Why do you think
\nSweet & Sassy stands out in the industry?  <\/strong><\/p>\n

We are the best.  We
\nhave the best architects and store designers. 
\nLandlords want our concept, so we have the best locations.  We find the best retail tween products and
\nnegotiate vendor discounts for the best retail. 
\nWe update our parties to keep them current.  Our marketing staff is exceptional and we
\nhave top-notch marketing and storefront material.  It all comes together strategically to be
\nvery Sweet & Sassy and the ultimate place to shop, get pampered, or have a
\nparty.<\/p>\n

What makes the Sweet
\n& Sassy opportunity more attractive than your competitor’s?  <\/strong><\/p>\n

We have three businesses under one roof that all cross-sell
\neach other for a higher average ticket price. 
\nOur architects, real estate consultant, store builder, retail vendors,
\nmarketing staff, and operational staff are exceptional and provide a high-end
\nstore that is strategic, professional, and where tweens want to be.<\/p>\n

Describe the ideal
\ncandidate.  <\/strong><\/p>\n

We learned the hard way what makes a great candidate.  When we started, we sold to those who
\nfinancially qualified and had good territories. 
\nAs some owners floundered and others excelled, we learned that location
\nwas a factor, but also a strong work ethic from the owner, prior business
\nexperience, and a commitment to customer service excellence were also big
\nfactors needed for a successful store.<\/p>\n

What’s the strongest
\nskill you require in a candidate?  <\/strong><\/p>\n

Business experience and a strong work ethic.<\/p>\n

Describe the working
\nenvironment of your franchisees. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Our franchisees work in their stores.  They motivate staff, greet customers, plan
\nand order retail merchandise, and execute marketing plans.  It is very much an on-your-feet people
\nposition.<\/p>\n

Why has you’re your
\ncompany been successful?  <\/strong><\/p>\n

Strong brand, strong store design, great parties, great
\nretail products, commitment to serving our customers.<\/p>\n

What advice would you
\ngive someone interested in buying a franchise in your industry?  <\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s a more difficult
\nindustry than average.  You are working
\nwith stylists, high school party coordinators, front staff, retail customers,
\nmarketers, etc.  It is three businesses
\nunder one roof and the ability to multi-task and get the job done is
\ncritical.  It is a commitment and not a
\nside business or hobby.<\/p>\n

How much experience
\nin this industry should a franchisee candidate have should they consider buying
\na franchise in your industry?  <\/strong><\/p>\n

Our successful owners do not have any salon experience (a
\ncommon question), but do have 10+ years of business
\nexperience.  Business experience and
