How was your franchise/opportunity originally conceived and started?
With over 100 digital signage screens in Denver, Colorado in 2008, we were our own original lab rats learning what to do and more importantly what not to do. After we had a successful business model, we realized we are able to help others start a business in digital signage.
What was your original vision for your company? How has that changed over time?
The vision has always been the same: Become the largest Indoor Billboard Network in the World. What has changed is the technology becoming more efficient to deliver the message.
What do you believe is the single most important factor when choosing a franchise?
We are a business opportunity, but the most important factor remains the same in either structure. We believe there are two; is the industry relevant in today’s world and will your franchisor or service provider invest time and resources and tools with you or just take your money and tell you to swim.
Why should someone choose your franchise over other similar franchises?
There are very few providers in this space. We have invested years and financial resources to develop the best technology and training system to help our Dealers get to revenue quickly.
What makes your industry attractive?
63% growth in the last 5 years and 105 billion is expected to be spent in 2020 on digital advertising.
What types of qualities do you look for in potential franchisees?
Outgoing personality with sales, marketing, and/or management experience, and who are results oriented. The ideal candidate might have a print background like phonebook, coupons, magazines, direct mail, and newspapers, or radio/television.
What do your franchise fees and royalties cover?
For the business opportunity: a protected territory, training, branding for the Dealer’s new business including logo, website, marketing materials, full motion ads for the screens, and component players that turn TV’s into community-based indoor billboard networks via our proprietary software. There are no royalties, just a license fee per component player.
How do territories work for your franchisees?
Territories are clearly defined contractually and each Dealer has their own protected area to set up their networks of screens. The size of the area is based on population.
Why has your franchise model been successful?
Our proven training model coupled with a sexy cutting edge product and technology is our secret sauce. Most importantly, it’s the care we take with our Dealers. They become part of our family and are treated as such. We support our Dealers and are invested in their success.
Where do you see your franchise in 5 years and 10 years?
Incorporating the latest technology and offering multiple products on our platform that are all integrated.
What is your favorite advice for new franchisees to help them succeed?
Get out of the car! It sounds funny, but if a Dealer will work this business, they will reap the rewards.
What would you tell potential franchisees that may be nervous about the financial burdens of starting a franchise?
We give you 90 days prior to any fees starting to give you time to set up your business and start offsetting your costs. Since we are not a franchise, there is no brick and mortar to worry about and no employees. There are also no royalties to pay, only a license fee per component player. The rest of the income is exclusively the Dealers.
On average, how long does it take to start a new franchise from the franchisees point of view?
For our business opportunity, the Dealer can expect to earn revenue in 90 days or earlier.
What was your background and experience before founding this franchise?
Seasoned entrepreneurs in finance, real estate, data management, telemarketing call centers, and product development.
Do you have any franchisee testimonials or success stories that you would like to share?
"I started as a dealer in May 2016. Starting with my first phone call I was comfortable with Phil. Whenever a new adventure is beginning it is scary and exciting at the same time. My new adventure began on June 1, 2016 and I have not stopped. I love my business (Illiana Indoor Billboards) as it is rewarding to see the fruits of my labor come to life.
