In 1989, Kenny Higginbotham had a vision that he could create a place where people would be transported in time to a place where life was simpler. Kenny bought a diner in Phoenix and spent the next two years developing his concept. In the process he created the legendary 5 & Diner Restaurant—the no-holds-barred 50's flashback theme with affordable, top-quality food including award-winning burgers and shakes. Kenny's concept continues to evolve and expand. The 5 & Diner has become a landmark in Phoenix and a tradition for many, including movie stars, sports celebrities and our faithful guests.
We are very excited to introduce the 5 & Diner Delux. We designed this unit because we had many people asking for a Diner that would fit into an existing shopping center.
Designed to fit into an end cap of an existing shopping center the base unit is designed to sit 140 guests in a 3,200 square foot space. As you can see we have departed from the 50's style Diner and made the new Diner more contemporary. We have added a small bar area with two large TV screens so the guests can relax, view their favorite sports and have a cold beer or cocktail while dinning.We hired one of the top ten chefs in the United States to put together a winning menu that is about sixty percent smaller than regular menu. We stayed with the 50's style comfort food but with a much higher flavor profile. Our guests have just raved about the new menu items. Naturally our award winning hamburgers are there for those who want the best hamburger money can buy. Our full breakfast menu that has won many awards will be offered as well.
