How was your franchise/opportunity originally conceived and started? 

Began in 1980 and began franchising in 1985.

What was your original vision for your company? How has that changed over time?  

Original vision was custom design-build company specifically in deck construction. In time, the company evolved to include Porches (open or screened), 3 and 4 Season Rooms, Pergolas (aka trellises), Paver and concrete patios and many other accessories.  Today Archadeck is a design build company specializing in Outdoor Living Spaces.

What do you believe is the single most important factor when choosing a franchise? 

Ensuring the candidate has the skill set for this type of business. Essentially does business match candidate skills.

Why should someone choose your franchise over other similar franchises? 

Time in the industry. As a builder, the tangible aspect of what we build is priceless. Homeowners see the space as something that will enhance the “family”.

What makes your industry attractive? 

Outdoor Living in general is a “staple” in the American homes. We are in the remodeling industry which does not have the peaks and valleys that other industries experience and the fact that homeowners always improve their homes.

What types of qualities do you look for in potential franchisees? 

Excellent interpersonal skills, a degree of construction background and professional.

What do your franchise fees and royalties cover? 

Support, technology, marketing.

How do territories work for your franchisees? 

The territories are based on zip code and demographics within.

Why has your franchise model been successful? 

We stand strong behind out support and relationships with our franchisees. 

Where do you see your franchise in 5 years and 10 years?  

5 years – 75 locations with system sales at $80MM and 10 years at 100 locations and $125MM in system sales.

What is your favorite advice for new franchisees to help them succeed? 

Follow the system and you will be successful!

What would you tell potential franchisees that may be nervous about the financial burdens of starting a franchise? 

Proper planning in execution will reduce these stresses. 

Can you explain your financial assistance (if applicable)? 

We offer financing of up to 50% of the franchise fee. 

On average, how long does it take to start a new franchise from the franchisees point of view? 

This is variable but any where from 3-6 months.
