How was your franchise/opportunity originally conceived and started?

Tint World® was first established in 1982 in Tamarac, Florida. Since then, the business grew to a six location multi-store chain in South Florida.     From the beginning, Tint World® applied staff™ knowledge and skills to successfully guide the automotive, residential, commercial and marine service operations.    In 2007, Tint World® became a national franchise of Automotive Styling Centers with its Franchise Headquarters in Boca Raton Florida.  The Tint World® franchise system is built on proven principles that have been successfully implemented by people from all walks of life. What was your original vision for your company? How has that changed over time?

What do your franchise fees and royalties cover?

FRANCHISE OPENING SUPPORT:      Site Selection Assistance     We or our affiliates will assist you in the site selection process for your Center.     Lease Negotiation     We or our affiliates will provide you with lease negotiation assistance including negotiating required Franchise Agreement terms into your Lease. You and your attorney are solely responsible for the legal issues in your lease for the Center.     Equipment Package     We or our affiliates will assist you with ordering and assembly your Equipment, Signage, and Showroom Display Package for your Center.     Construction and Buildout     We or our affiliates will assist you with the renovation and brand buildout guidelines of your Center.     Grand Opening Advertising     We or our affiliates will assist you with conducting your Grand Opening Promotion for the Center during the period commencing twenty (20) days before and ending ninety (90) days after its opening.     Business and Legal Services     We or our affiliates will assist you with your Initial Inventory and Supplies order, reservations for Travel and lodging for up to two persons attending the management training program, preparing and administering your franchise documents, and assisting with onboarding business licenses and required legal compliance items to open for business.      Insurance Services     We or our affiliates will assist you with your initial Business Insurance premium for liability insurance coverage, workers™ comp insurance, and automobile coverage.     TRAINING:    Online Training     We provide a library of online training programs via LMS electronic communication. Learning management systems allow software applications to administer, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation and delivery of educational courses, training programs, or learning and development programs.     Classroom Training     New Owner training provides our entire training program as detailed in the Operations Manual.    Phase 1 encompasses six days of classroom introductory instructional training on Center operations.    Phase 2 encompasses six days of classroom sales and services training on Center operations.   Phase 3 encompasses six days of in-store sales and management training on Center operations.     On-the-Job Training     We provide a startup assistance opening team consisting of: (a) an area Operations Manager and; (b) an area General Technician Supervisor. This team can assist in the setup, opening and on-site assistance to help in starting up the operation, for a time period not in excess of one (1) week or as Franchisor deems necessary for the Franchised Business.

How do territories work for your franchisees?

Once the location of the Center has been determined, we will not locate nor license another to locate another Tint World® Center within the area identified in the Franchise Agreement as the Protected Territory . You may face competition from other franchisees, from outlets that we own, or from other channels of distribution or competitive brands that we control.    The minimum size of the Protected Territory for each Centers Franchise Agreement (the Territory) will be: (a) a circle encompassing a two (2) mile radius from the Premises which has a four (4) mile diameter, with your accepted location of your Tint World® Premises as the center-point; or (b) if your Center is located in an urban or other densely populated area, your Territory may be limited to a five (5) block radius. Your Protected Territory is not exclusive. Certain locations, such as Malls and Downtown Locations will have smaller Territories which will be determined by us on a site-specific basis. The accepted location, if not chosen prior to the awarding of your franchise, will be attached and made a part of your Franchise Agreement.  Once the location for the Center has been determined, we will not locate nor license another to locate another Tint World® Center within your Protected Territory.     Outside sales related to automotive car dealerships, marinas, residential, commercial and other accounts that you offer products and services can be a significant part of your business sales, so you may service accounts and perform services at locations anywhere inside your Territory. You must not service or perform business outside of your Territory, unless the following conditions are met: (i) you reasonably describe in writing to us the area in which you propose to operate in, (ii) such area is not subject to a grant of a franchise by us to another franchisee, (iii) such area is not already being serviced by a company-owned Center, and (iv) you obtain our consent, which consent shall not be unreasonably withheld. In the event any area in which you are operating outside of your Territory becomes subject to a grant in favor to another franchisee, you agree to promptly stop operating in such area and to relinquish all rights to any accounts established by you in such area to the new franchisee.

What is your favorite advice for new franchisees to help them succeed?

What would you tell potential franchisees that may be nervous about the financial burdens of starting a franchise?
 
Everyone handles investment different so there is not a single answer to tell someone how to feel.    Think of all the reasons why you want to own your own franchise and the concerns you have in doing it.   Think of all the reasons why you should not own a business and the concerns you have about not doing it.    Then imaging yourself in five or ten years into the future in what your life could be like in both cases.    Then compare what your life could be with owning a franchise be better or worse vs what your life would be without owning a franchise.    It’s a personal decision but I think that you have to be in it to win it.
 
Can you explain your financial assistance (if applicable)?
 
Tint World® has taken significant steps to ease the process of financing your franchise investment. To help you get started, Tint World® has developed relationships with several approved lenders. In a major effort to help small business owners, Tint World® has been approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and offers the Franchise Registry that will expedite the processing of loans to small business franchisees. These lenders provide conventional lending products and other financial services, including SBA backed loans for smaller transactions. They also offer a simplified application process and quick turnaround times.    Tint World® has also developed an innovative Financing Alliance with leasing, because, Tint World® is considered a low cost franchise and leasing may be the easiest and quickest way to get financing. 
 
On average, how long does it take to start a new franchise from the franchisees point of view?
 
APPROVAL PROCESS     The first step to becoming a Tint World® franchisee is through our candidate approval process. Once you submit the general information form, our straightforward approval process begins with a short phone interview with a franchise development representative. This is to learn more about you, your goals, and your business experience.    Next you will receive a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) which outlines everything you get as a Tint World® franchise owner. This document covers everything from product displays to marketing materials and equipment, so you know exactly what you’re getting with your investment.    FRANCHISE LICENSING PROCESS    Our professional development staff will help you through the entire licensing process and paperwork, and answer any questions you may have. By the end of the licensing process, you’ll be the owner of your new Tint World® franchise.    TINT WORLD® COMPLETE TRAINING PROGRAM    Leading up to your stores completion, you will participate in our Tint World® Complete Training Program. As outlined on the previous page, this includes extensive classroom and in-store training so you can be confident and prepared to run a successful Tint World® franchise.      TINT WORLD® DISCOVERY DAY    At your Tint World® Discovery Day, you’ll get a comprehensive, hands-on tour of a functioning Tint World® center so you can see exactly what it’s like to run a Tint World® franchise. You’ll get a full walk-through of daily operations and procedures, and meet the Tint World® support team as well as franchise CEO, Charles J. Bonfiglio.    FRANCHISE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS    After all the paperwork is complete, we can get to work opening your own Tint World® auto styling center. We help take care of everything from location selection and development to startup and grand opening. Once a Tint World® location is secured, it typically takes 30-90 days to remodel your site and open your Tint World® styling center.    GRAND OPENING FRANCHISE OWNERSHIP    Once your Tint World® store and training are complete, we’ll walk you through setup, hiring, and procedures of running your business until you’re comfortable with our proven business system for success. What was your background and experience before founding this franchise?
 
Mr. Charles J. Bonfiglio became Chief Executive Officer when founding Tint World® as a franchise organization in January 2007.  Mr. Bonfiglio is responsible for all functions related to the leadership, development, direction, and operation of the company as well as growing the family of franchise owners while maintaining the company’s budget and growth projections.     From January of 1983 until August 2014, Mr. Bonfiglio served as Franchise Developer, President serving companies that opened, operated and sold ten of the largest automotive service centers in South Florida for privately held Meineke Car Care Centers. Mr. Bonfiglio is also the CEO of I Car Care, LLC d/b/a Auto Parts Network®, a Technology and Ecommerce Company in Boca Raton, FL, starting August 2006. Mr. Bonfiglio is also the CEO and Manager of Automotive Sales Network, LLC d/b/a Automotive Sales Network, a Car Dealer Company in Boca Raton, FL, starting January 2012. Bonfiglio has direct expertise in the automotive parts and service industry, franchising, ecommerce, web design, software development, patents, trademarks, brand marketing, real estate development and financial management.     With more than 30 years of developing and leading many successful business operations, Mr. Bonfiglio is a business executive with broad experience in all aspects of business and real estate development.
